Our strong emphasis on patient satisfaction, attention to every detail, and the full time administrative position of "Director of Quality Experience," who serves as a concierge, truly distinguishes AristaCare as best in class. Providing care settings that are warm, luxurious, and inviting, while attending to each patient's physical, spiritual, and social needs results in a more complete recovery and promotes patient centered care.
Therapeutic Recreation

Therapeutic Recreation

At AristaCare, activities are designed to be geared to be a strong part of recovery and quality of life. Addressing the mind and spirit is key to a person's well being. Our creative approach to therapy recreation focuses on maximizing engagement while addressing a multitude of hobbies, preferences, and tastes. One of our main emphasis is: It's Never Too Late (IN2L) - a system with incredibly innovative technology tailer-made to engage patients with the outside world.

Under this program, a long-term care patient in New Jersey can use a webcam to read a favorite story to his grandchild in California. Another patient might take a walk along a virtual re-creation of the street where she grew up, and re-connect with treasured memories from her childhood. New computer technology is restoring the quality of life for people who, until now, may have felt that they have lost important parts of themselves when they entered an inpatient facility.

IN2L makes therapy fun and helps keeps patients engaged for longer periods of time. They utilize cognitive and motor skills and strengthen hand/eye coordination through activities such as bingo played in real time, emailing friends and family, working personalized jigsaw puzzles, and connecting with others during an interactive Wheel of Fortune game on the giant screen. The system is designed to allow patients the opportunity to 'escape' to the outside world and 'visit' places they wouldn't normally see during therapy. And they can do so whether they are sitting, standing or lying down.

Active Lifestyles- A key goal at AristaCare is lifestyle enhancement. We strive to keep each patient active and engaged and provide multiple resources to create meaningful, purposeful days. Active lifestyles is a focus at AristaCare and promotes a higher quality of life, as well as positive impact on clinical progress.
Aqua Therapy

Aqua Therapy

The Aqua Therapy program at AristaCare at Cedar Oaks puts our rehabilitation program into a new league. In our on-site resistance swimming pool, the laminar water current creates a powerful and consistent wall-of-water resistance, and allows the therapist to control and change the pool counter-current on the spot. Resistance swimming pools are a great method of developing muscular strength and endurance as a whole.

The therapeutic value of aqua therapy:
- Allows various levels of activity even in the acute stages of rehab - helping to raise morale.
- Provides for easy maintenance of physical conditioning throughout the entire rehab process.
- Allows the principles of water to counteract gravity and supply support, thus reducing pain, spasms, and swelling while providing earlier and more effective aquatic therapy rehabilitation exercises.
- Provides a resistive wall of water as an effective and safe means of performing strengthening, functional, and sports-specific activities.
- The use of aquatic therapy and training for orthopedic injuries allows the injured body part to actively "rest" while the person maintains fitness levels and discovers rapid gains in the critical early stages of the healing and rehabilitative process. The unique properties of water - buoyancy, hydrostatic pressure, viscosity and fluid dynamics - provide an excellent rehabilitative environment.
Patient Education

Patient Education

We work to develop strong patient compliance during a patient's post hospital stay, and throughout the transition to home. The use targeted educational programs brings awareness, and encourages patients to become partners in their progress, recovery, and continued wellness

Comprehensive Transition to Home Process

Comprehensive Transition to Home Process

AristaCare recognizes the significance of its role in transitional care, as a connective setting between the hospital and home. AristaCare has an innovative approach to ensure a smooth transition for patients between settings in an effort to maximize patient experience, encourage continued recovery, and help maintain the highest clinical outcomes possible. A vital component is constant communication with the full medical team, starting prior to a patient's stay at AristaCare, continuing through the entire treatment and recovery process, and maintained throughout the reintroduction to their home environment. Prior to a patients' discharge to home, all necessary services, medications, physician appointments, and equipment are fully coordinated. Once discharged, a full summary is sent to the patients' primary care physician, and comprehensive follow up support and services are initiated. The patient is fully trained and educated on self care and monitoring, ensuring a high level of compliance, and stressing the important impact of each patient being a fully vested partner in his or her wellness.
